After graduating with a degree in biology, at Augusta State University, Augusta, Georgia. Patrick worked as a Research Assistant (PIs: Dr. Max Snodderly and Dr. Alan Saul) at the Medical College of Georgia, preparing electrodes and assisting with surgeries on rhesus macaque monkeys. He toured Kristen Harris’s lab at MCG and was interested in her research. Coincidentally, shortly after he moved back home to Austin, Kristen moved to UT. So he had the good fortune to join her lab.
