Help! Its not working...

If the BRAIN VOLUME EXPLORER window opened when you clicked on a brain volume icon, then make sure you have read the help page, including the Additional Navigation Tips at the bottom of the page.

The volume explorer javascript has been tested on Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0-5.5, and Netscape Communicator 4.6, and should work on these platforms or higher, but specific machines can have configurational differences. For example, it was sometimes possible to get "No Such Interface Supported" when trying to open the volume explorer window from IE4.00 on certain computers. Upgrading to IE5.5 solved the problem, however.

The page containing the table of available volumes should print a message (in yellow) if javascript is not enabled in your browser.

To Enable Javascripting:

In Netscape Communicator:
Go to the Edit menu and open the Preferences... dialog. Select Advanced and check the box beside Enable Javascript.
In Microsoft Internet Explorer:
Go to the View menu and open the Internet Options... dialog. Go to the Security tab and select Internet Zone in the Zone: box. Set the security level to Custom and then click on the Settings... button to open the settings dialog. Scroll down to the Scripting catagory and select Enable for Active Scripting.

Other Known Issues:

  1. Movement, Zoom Out, or Load View results in brain volume icon spinning endlessly without internet activity. This is usually caused by the desired view already being available locally, without going over the internet. Workarounds: Click on brain volume icon to stop spinning. Or, go to a new view before returning to the current view.
  2. Only partial images recorded. Workarounds: This is usually caused by accessing the next view before the current view is fully loaded. In this case, slower view browsing will solve the problem.
  3. Only partial view shown when stop playing a flipbook sequence. Workarounds: Click on load view to get full view restored. Note, however, that this can lead to issue 1. Once full view is restored, click on brain volume icon to stop the spinning.
